APRIL 15 | GOOD FRIDAY

Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. For many people across the world, this day is a time of sadness and mourning.

It is a holiday that can be celebrated in various ways—services are held, prayers are said and hymns are sung, and family members host get-togethers.

The name of the holiday is derived from the fact that on Good Friday all Christians cease their usual activities, to meditate on the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on their behalf. Though no specific day within a year is set aside for celebrating this event, traditionally it has been celebrated on Friday ahead of Easter.

Most other Christian denominations do not recognize Good Friday as a holy day of obligation, although some do observe it as a day of fasting or abstinence.

For Christians, Good Friday is the most solemn day of the year, entailing the death of Jesus Christ and his transition from the mortal world to an ethereal one, one which Christians refer to as Heaven. The Passion of Christ and Easter Sunday are significant events in Christian religious practice that can be explained both as biblical history as well as folk tradition.

As we celebrate Holy Week, ROC.PH Digital Marketing Services will not be in operation this Good Friday, April 15, 2022, and will resume on April 18, 2022. We invite you to pray everything to Him and ask for His guidance.
