The average person has about an 8-second attention span before they start getting bored, and social media is slowly trimming away at those 8 seconds. Because of this, you need to be able to capture a person’s attention in only 8 seconds, or at least get a message through. That’s where colors come in. Colors help your work stand out among the rest, by drawing attention to them. But that’s not all: Colors help shape your impression of certain brands too, even if it’s your first time seeing that brand in particular.
For example, Purple is a luxurious color, traditionally used by kings because of it’s rarity. Because of that, using purple in your logos can give off a sense of royalty or luxury. In the same way, black can represent mystique or elegance, yellow can represent optimism and excitement, and green can represent nature. Keeping track of your colors can help you make an impression even before the customer knows who you are!
