Q1: What is IQ League: Vanguard?
IQ League: Vanguard is PUP ASCII’s premier inter-departmental cognitive competition, designed to challenge students in calculation, reasoning, spatial awareness, and memorization.
Q2: Who can participate in the competition?
For its first year, IQ League: Vanguard is open to all undergraduate students of PUP Manila.
Q3: Is there a registration fee for participants?
None, registration is completely free!
Q4: When is the start of registration?
The registration period will take place during the last week of April to first week of May.
Q5: How will the Departmental War work?
Each department will hold an internal selection round, called Departmental War, where students from that department compete to earn a spot in the main event. The top 4 students from each department will be representing their department in the Main Match.
Q6: What is the Main Match?
The Main Match is the final stage of IQ League: Vanguard, where the top 4 students from the departmental war compete as a team in a series of challenging cognitive games. The Main Match will be the highlight of the competition, bringing together the best minds from PUP Manila.
Q7: How are the game challenges created?
To ensure fairness and transparency, all competition challenges will be created by student organizations from other universities. This prevents any department from having prior knowledge of the challenges, ensuring an equal and unbiased competition for all teams.
Q8: What will be the flow of the activities?
The Departmental War will take place on May 2025, where students from each department will compete to determine their official representatives. During this stage, a photoshoot will also be conducted for the selected representatives of each department, along with volunteers and other individuals who wish to show their support for the event. The output of this photoshoot will be used for the DP blast to promote the event. Finally, the Main Match will take place on May 2025, where the top teams will compete for the championship title.
Q9: What can the participants expect?
All participants can look forward to a challenging and intellectually stimulating experience, exclusive swag kits, a Certificate of Participation, and a new set of connections
Q10: What can the winners in the Main Match expect?
Winners of the IQ League will receive recognition, certificates, exclusive prizes, and bragging rights as the top intellectual team of PUP Manila! More details on prizes will be announced closer to the event.
